JAZZ

Jazz dance is an energetic, upbeat, and expressive style that builds strong technique while encouraging individuality and performance skills. As students progress they can explore specialised styles like Broadway and Commercial Jazz. Our Jazz Tech classes will focus on body isolations, alignment, leaps, turns, and rhythm, jazz offers a fun and powerful way to develop confidence and versatility.

BALLET

Ballet is a classical dance form known for its grace, precision, and strong technical foundation. It develops posture, flexibility, strength, and discipline—forming the basis of all dance training. As dancers progress to senior levels, ballet may extend to learning pointe work, which builds strength, control, and artistry.

LYRICAL

Lyrical dance blends the technique of ballet with the freedom and emotion of contemporary and jazz, also referred to as ‘slow modern’. Dancers use movement to interpret the lyrics and mood of the music, focusing on storytelling, expression, and fluidity.

CONTEMPORARY

Contemporary dance is a versatile and expressive style that combines elements of ballet, modern, and jazz techniques. It encourages creativity, emotional expression, and innovative movement, allowing dancers to explore both structured technique and free-form improvisation.

HIP HOP

Hip Hop is a high-energy dance style rooted in street culture, known for its dynamic moves, freestyle elements, and strong musical beats. It encourages individuality, rhythm, and creativity, making it a fun and empowering style for dancers of all ages.

MUSICAL THEATRE

Musical Theatre dance combines dance technique with acting, singing and storytelling, bringing characters and songs to life on stage. It’s a theatrical and expressive style that helps dancers build stage presence, confidence, and performance skills.

ACRO

Acro is a fusion of dance and acrobatics, focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, and control. At Studio 4 Dance, our Acro program follows the internationally recognised Acrobatic Arts syllabus, ensuring safe and progressive skill development in a structured, supportive environment.

CHEER

Cheer at Studio 4 Dance is a fun, high-energy style that combines modern jazz dance with acrobatic cheerleading elements, culminating in a pom routine for the end of year concert. It promotes teamwork, performance skills, and team spirit while building strength, coordination, and confidence.

TINY TOTS

Tiny Tots Dance is a playful and engaging introduction to movement for our youngest dancers. These teacher-only classes help children develop coordination, rhythm, and confidence through music and basic dance steps in a fun, nurturing environment—allowing little ones to learn independently without parents in the room.
